About

I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), a full member of the BPS Division of Neuropsychology and listed on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists. I have worked for over 15 years in neuropsychology within both the private sector and the NHS in the UK and hospitals in Australia and New Zealand. I continue to work within the NHS in a part time capacity.

I have specialist experience in neuropsychological assessment and treatment with adults and older adults, including patients who present with head injury, stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, HIV and other neurological conditions. I also have extensive expertise working within a neuro-rehabilitation setting where I have developed expertise in conducting capacity assessments, applied behavioural management and working therapeutically with clients and their carers who present with a range of cognitive and emotional difficulties. I am also experienced in working with individuals who experience sleep difficulties.

I completed my undergraduate training at Macquarie University in Sydney Australia where I was awarded a 1st Class Honours degree in Psychology. I then moved to New Zealand to complete my clinical psychology training and my PhD, for which I was awarded the G.V. Goddard Award for early career excellence. I completed a masters in neuropsychology with the University of Glasgow and the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology with the BPS, for which I was awarded a distinction.

I am also an experienced researcher, having worked at both the Institute of Psychiatry and the Institute of Clinical Neuroscience. I was lead investigator on a project that explored cognitive changes associated with HIV and aging and have also developed novel methods for measuring memory function in epilepsy using functional MRI techniques. I have published in a number of peer review journals and presented my research at international conferences. A list of my publications is available on request.
